K.B.Shaheen Guides and Scouts push cleaning drive to keep planet clean

HUNZA, Brashall, April 21:Shia Imami Ismaili Shaheen Scouts and shaheen guides , a subsidiary of Girls guides are on cleaning environment compaign to keep planet clean. HUNZA, Brashall: Ismaili Shaheen Scouts are busy to burry the waste collected from the town and suburbs to promote healthy practices

According to details, under the supervision of Town Management Society (TMS) and Aga Khan Ismaili Local council, little volunteers are out to get the town rid of waste material.

Since a decade, the awarness about health and environmental protection, local communities are striving to maintain the balance of ratio of natural beauty in the region, though highlighted very little in media circles.

Not a single non governmental organization has paid a heed to problems faced by the population of Lower Shishkat, except Central Asian Institute and FOCUS humanitarian assistance that has provided tents to arrange tuition classes and general necessities of life respectively.

NDMA officials hoodwinking Public, relief package mere show offs; income resources vanished, says Salman Ali

HUNZA, April, 20:(Najeeb Ullah Baig) Natural Disaster Management Authorities are deceiving public and they have little concern about the sufferings of the public. These views were expressed by Salman Ali, aborigines of the Nazimabad (Shishkat) village during a meeting with Voice of Hunza on Tuesday.

He alleged Frontier Works Organization (FWO) that very little work is being done to meet the target saying removal of mere forty feet debris is like a tiny particle into mouth of a camel. “The substandard boats are doing little good for public as very few people can able to manage to sail,” he added.

Calamity hit status for Gojal, Attabad and Sarat notified

Islamabad, April 16: Official notification declaring Gojal valley, Attabad Bala, Attabad Payeen and Sarat as calamity hit areas has, finally, been issued according to information obtained from the office of deputy home secretary Gilgit – Baltistan. It was a long standing demand of the people of Gojal valley that their area be declared as calamity hit and proper measures be put in place for reviving livelihood in the region. While the former interim governor of Gilgit – Baltistan had declared the region as calamity hit and promised resolution of the issues created by the January 4 landslide and the resulting lake formation, the official notification had not been issued as yet. Delay in issuance of the notification status irritated the local people who resorted to protests yet again and declared extreme measures, including marching towards the Chinese border for help. The notification, details of which are not fully know yet, is expected to bring relief and satisfaction to people of the disaster hits parts of Hunza valley, Pamir times reported.

Affectees of Attaabad and Sarat present charter of demands; governor ensures for proper rehabilitation of community

HUNZA, April 14: Affectees of Attaabad and Sarat present charter of demands to governor doctor Shama Khalid and Chief Minister Syed Mehdi Shah during a meeting with delegates of Hunza.

Governor and Chief Minister, who are on Hunza tour visited disaster site, relief camps and Upper Hunza to observe relief work by regional under directives of federal government.
Affected community headed by Mr. Hakim Shah after congratulating governor for appointment presented before her their demands: to speed up process of compensation, to renew relief package for rehabilitation in time; special financial relief or support for students studying in different educational institutions, share in public services and to write off loans of affectees of both banks and societies. Affected community expressed their satisfaction on government relief and thanked former governor for his personal attention to the community. Governor and Chief Minister listened their demands and pledged to consider them in due time.

GAHKUCH, April 14: Qari Abdul Khaliq, president Balawaristan National Front (BNF), Ghizar district has said that Chief Minister is mere a nominal head of new set up and new package is a contravice to decieve people. Talking to a regional Urdu daily he said that communal strife has reach apax in the region due to negligance of regional leadership towards their responsibilities. He alledged federal parties for involving in communal hatred rose recently saying certain federalist political and religious parties are responsible for such incidents. Governor issues order for appointment of staff

GILGIT, April 02: Governor Giligit-Baltistan Doctor shama Khalid has issued orders for the appointment of staff for her office. According to the details, governor has ordered Chief Secretary to make proper arrangements and issue notification to facilitate here official chores by appointing deputy secretary and coordinator. According to reliable resources, Sajad Haider, deputy secretary services will assume charges as deputy secretary Governor secretariate. Muhammad Tajoor,Executive engineer shall work as coordinator and DSP Tanveer Hussain and Ali Rehmat has been deputed as security officer and protocol officer respectively. Similarly, Shehbaz Khan will act her principal assistant.
